Severity Of Stains/Smell?
Light to Moderate Stains? In this situation the pet urinated on the carpet only once in each location. Urine will not have permeated heavily into carpet pad and sub floor structure. In this case, we treat the contaminated areas topically with a two part system to attempt to alleviate both the stain and the odor. This is followed by a deep soil carpet extraction.
In this situation the pet contamination is where the pet has repeatedly used the same spot. Most likely the carpet backing, padding and floor have been saturated by urine. When the carpet is dry you can visibly see the area is discolored and has a strong odor. Contamination of this level requires subsurface approach. In this case we would spot treat by saturating the area with an enzyme/ urine pretreatment mixture enough to penetrate the backing, padding and concrete. We would then extract the area with a Water Claw System. Depending on the volume of contaminate this may require several applications until all contaminates are flushed from the subsurface. We would then apply Enzymes topically and leave air movers to expedite drying.
This is a contamination where the pet damage covers large areas. Most likely the carpet backing, padding and floor have been saturated by urine. When the carpet is dry you can feel the sticky, oily residue left in the carpet. Contamination of this level requires several more steps. We would first pull back the carpet and remove contaminated padding. We would then seal the sub floor with an odor barrier. We would clean back and top of carpet with a urine pretreatment then treat carpet with an odor modifier to attack odorous materials. We would replace padding and reinstall the carpet before completing the treatment with deep soil extraction.
